Holy Sophia Coptic Orthodox School of Theology is currently accepting applications for two distinct positions:
Teaching Assistantship (TA)
Responsibilities: Teaching assistants are responsible for grading weekly assignments, for responding to general student inquiries for that specific course, for communicating between the students and the course instructor, and for other basic duties requested by the instructor. TA’s are expected to have read all the course materials prior to the beginning of the course in which they are assisting.
Credentials: To apply for this position, you must have a Master’s degree in Religious Studies, Theological Studies (MTS), or the equivalent. Preference will be given to applicants within the Coptic Orthodox Church and its sister churches.

Adjunct Professorship (Part-time)
Responsibilities: Adjunct professors are responsible for constructing thorough course syllabi with clear course descriptions, objectives, lesson guides, assignments, and exams. Syllabi must be approved by the Academic Director in order to be hired. Adjunct professors are also expected to communicate frequently with each student, responding to inquiries within 24 hours and grading assignments in less than one week from submission. As course instructors, the primary responsibility of adjuncts is to facilitate the education of each student through the course material carefully, assessing the progress of each student and ensuring a solid grasp of he course material in the manner in which the instructor expects.
Credentials: To apply for this position, you must have a Ph.D. in Theology or Religious Studies (ABD considered), or an equivalent terminal degree. Preference will be given to applicants within the Coptic Orthodox Church and its sister churches.
