Counseling Through the Life-Span


This course introduces the various theories of human development throughout a person’s life, from prenatal development, infancy, and early childhood all the way to late adulthood. Students will be instructed in the understanding of human development, the various issues specific to each stage of a person’s life, and how to approach individuals at each stage.

Fr. Suriel was an English Language Arts teacher from 2012 in the public school system. He completed his dual masters degree in school and clinical mental health counseling in 2018. He has worked as a clinical counselor with adults diagnosed with depression, substance abuse, and family & couple therapy. In 2018 Fr. Suriel was ordained a priest and is a doctoral candidate of education and pastoral counseling.
