This is the first of two courses on Spiritual Theology and it is designed to serve as an introduction to the spiritual tradition of Orthodox Christianity. This course (THEO 611) will examine the rich spirituality derived from the Holy Scriptures, the Desert Fathers, and the Church Fathers. The course will also begin to analyze an array of themes as well as the various dimensions that are found within the Church’s spiritual tradition.
In addition, the course will introduce the student to the application of these themes and to encourage them to formulate and to develop their thinking from a spiritual and theological viewpoint in order to be better equipped in their lives and their ministry.

This course (BIBL 604) analyzes Egyptian history and culture, utilizing archaeological, textual, and iconographic sources. Biblical narratives that are set in Egypt, or where Israelite history intersects with Egypt, will be examined, with special emphasis on the Hebrew sojourn and Exodus.
Old Testament Theology
