This course will offer Christian reflections by Orthodox authors on some of the most controversial bioethical discussions at the fore of contemporary culture. Some topics that will be explored include stem cell research, the use of embryonic stem cells, gene therapy, new definitions of sexuality and marriage, treatment of addictive behavior and substance abuse, euthanasia, birth control, abortion, and end-of-life care, among other topics. This course is 3-credit hours and can be applied to a Certificate in Orthodox Christianity & Science and a Master’s in Orthodox Christian Apologetics.
