Apologetics III

This class is the third Apologetics class which builds upon the previous two classes namely, Apologetics I and Apologetics II. This classes presents a more in-depth study of a few of the topics which were covered in the previous two classes, by reviewing and analyzing articles and papers contributed by several contemporary leaders in the Apologetics field, such as Gary Habermas, Craig Evans, J.P. Moreland, Ben Witherington, and N.T. Wright. Among to be delved in are: (1) Arguments for the Existence of God; (2) the reliability of the Gospels; (3) the Resurrection and Christian Origins; (4) Comparative Religions; (5) Postmodernism; and (6) the Coherence of Christian Doctrine.

Fr. Kyrillos Sadek is priest of St. Mary & St. Mina Coptic Orthodox Church in Syracuse, NY. Fr. Kyrillos holds a Ph.D. degree from the University of Virginia (1998), a M.S. from the University of Virginia (1995), and a B.Sc from the University of Alexandria, Egypt (1991), all in Engineering. Before his ordination, Fr. Kyrillos served in many churches including St. Mina Coptic Orthodox Church (Fleming) Alexandria, Egypt, St. Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Church Washington, D.C., St. Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Church Boston, MA, St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church Montreal, Canada, St. Mary and Archangel Raphael Coptic Community South Burlington, Vermont and St. Mary and St. Moses Coptic Orthodox Church Buffalo, NY. Fr. Kyrillos was also Professor of Civil Engineering at the University at Buffalo, and before that at the University of Vermont, where he taught both undergraduate and graduate courses, and conducted research in transportation systems. On May 4, he was ordained Deacon Yostos by his Grace Bishop David at St. Mary & St. Moses Coptic Orthodox Church Buffalo, NY, and on May 11, 2014 Deacon Yostos received the sacrament of priesthood and was ordained Father Kyrillos by His Grace Bishop David to serve St. Mary & St. Mina’s Coptic Orthodox Church Syracuse, NY.
